Effect of Rotational Speed on Tribological Properties of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Al-Si Alloy Matrix Composites

Porous carbon fiber-reinforced Al-Si alloy matrix composites and fiber felt-reinforced with content of 10 wt.% were prepared by die casting. The dry tribological properties these two studied using a ball-on-disc rotational tribometer in the speed range 300 r/min to 1000 r/min, wear mechanisms analyzed combination morphology. results show that friction coefficient rate are lower than at different speeds. With increase speed, first increases then decreases, gradually increases. change from abrasive adhesive delamination wear, but node mechanism is higher, degree relatively slight. In addition, comprehensive better porous composites.
